Mindful Makers sessions for children and adults!
Jennyanne Smith, Director of Co-create arts and health is an artist with 10 years experience in education plus 18 years experience of meditating – inconsistently!
The true benefits however came once she finally committed to her practice. Jennyanne qualified as a yoga, meditation and pranayama teacher in 2017 and she has been blending mantras, meditation, movement (yoga asanas) and mindful making activities ever since to help her manifest the life she always wanted – one that helps her stay as stress free as possible.
“Stress triggers my illness – in 2018 I was finally diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder type 2 after a life time of mood swings – triggered by stressful situations. Once I received my diagnosis a great weight was lifted off my shoulders – I finally understood who I am and self care and stress management became my number 1 priority!
Mindful makers is something I try to do for myself every single day and it makes such a HUGE difference to my life that I really want to ensure I DO do it everyday – so lo and behold why not involve others too!
Your first session is always free (EXCEPT AT THE HEPWORTH WAKEFIELD) and if you love it afterwards the suggested donation is £7. This money goes towards materials, venue hire/donation AND anything else goes back into Cocreate arts and health to enable us to carry on doing the work that we do!
Join artist Jennyanne Smith for a fun morning of children’s yoga including movement, meditation and mindful art activities
Most suitable for 2 1/2 – 7 year olds
Mindful Makers sessions are designed to motivate children to be active, build confidence, and manage the spectrum of emotions that they experience in their day‐to-day activities.
Each session includes child-friendly yoga moves (Asana); cardiovascular conditioning; meditation; breathing techniques (Pranayama) and deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra).
You will also be creative together enjoying mindfulness based making activities.
My adult sessions are relaxing, rejuvenating and revitalising – all at the same time! They have been designed to help eliminate the negative effects of daily stress and to give you some essential time for self care .
Each week we cover a different theme and the sessions include yoga moves (Asana); cardiovascular conditioning; mantra singing, meditation; breathing techniques (Pranayama), deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) & mindfulness based making and eating activities! We will also do some mindful manifestation aka Goal Setting for the week ahead!
PLEASE do not think you need to be a bendy flexible pretzel to get involved – YOGA is for EVERYONE and it does not matter in the slightest if you are flexible, toned or strong! Come along and try your first session for free – if its not for you – c’est la vie!
